You’re Here Because You’re Ready to Play 2-Ply Chess.
Most kids play 1-Ply chess. They see their own idea, they move, and they hope for the best. That is how pieces "hang." I am here to change that.
What is a "Ply"?
In chess, a ply is a single turn by one player.
• 1-Ply Thinking: You only see your own move. (This is where guessing happens).
• 2-Ply Vision: You see your move AND their best response before you touch the piece. (This is where planning begins).
When a student learns to close the 2-ply loop, "Oops" moments disappear. They stop hanging pieces because they have already seen the threat.
The 2-Ply Scan
My coaching focuses on one primary habit: The Scan. Before every move, we ask two simple questions:
1. What is my intent? (The 1st Ply)
2. What is their reply? (The 2nd Ply)
If a student can't answer the second question, they aren't ready to move. This discipline is the fastest way to bridge the gap between "beginner" and "competitor." It turns impulse into calculation.

Is your child stuck in a 1-ply loop? Let’s find out.
I offer an introductory diagnostic session to spot the vision gaps in their game. I will show them exactly how to stop guessing and start looking deeper.
